HDD VS SSD VS SSHD | The Difference between them

Whenever people are building a pc or buying a laptop, they have a confusion that they should buy HDD or SSD. So today i am going to end your confusion by explaining you each type of storage and also by saying the advantages and disadvantages of them.

HDD

HDD stands for Hard Disk Drive. It is a traditional storage device which is being used by us over many years. It is a mechanical storage device which contains some moving parts. It basically has a revolving head which revolves and accesses the data.

Advantages of HDD

1. It is cheap
2. It has a large storage capacity
3. Easily available in market.

Disadvantages of HDD

1. As it is a mechanical device, chances of wear and tear is high and has a low lifespan
2. It is very prone to damage
3. It has less speed
4. Requires more power

SSD

SSD stands for Solid State Drive. As the name says its solid that means it has no moving parts and is fixed like a solid. It is made using flash.

Advantages of SSD

1. It has higher speed than most of the hard drives.
2. Resistant to shocks
3. Low Power Consumption
4. Long Lifespan

Disadvantages of SSD

1. It is costly
2. It has less storage capacity
3. Not easily available in market

SSHD

SSHD stands for Solid State Hard Drive. It's a combination of HDD and SSD. Suppose a laptop has 1TB of SHDD. It means that laptop has 1TB HDD and about 30GB SSD.  In SSD, the operating system is installed so that the laptop performs fast.

These was all about HDD, SSD and SSHD. Hope you liked it. By the way according to me the best way to use HDD and SSD is together like in my laptop I have 1TB HDD and 256GB SSD. So it's best if you use both of them together as it will increase the speed and storage both of your device.
