TV vs Monitor | Can We Use TV As a Computer Monitor |
Disadvantages of using a TV as a monitor
1. Response time
So when you use TV as your monitor, the response time is very slow because it's not meant to do this. But when you use a monitor, the response time is fast as it is made for this purpose.
2. Colour Accuracy
See, Monitor is made to let a user work on it whereas a TV is made for entertainment purpose. So, TV is made in such a way that the colours will look more saturated and good when you watch it. So that you can watch a movie or anything with better colours. And when you use it as a monitor and do video editing or photoshop on that, you feel like the colours are looking so good and when you will see it on other device you will see that the colours were looking so different. So when you use TV as your monitor, you don't see the accurate colour but in monitor you do.
3. Refresh Rate
If you are a gamer then you should never use TV as your monitor as TV has very less refresh rate. Whereas in monitor you get upto 300hz of refresh rate. Refresh rate is the FPS you can see while playing a game. Suppose you are playing a game and the FPS provided by the game is 90 FPS and your monitor's refresh rate is 60hz. Then though your game is providing you 90 FPS, you can see only 60 FPS as your monitor is of 60hz.
